Why did the customer contact us?
The customer contacted us for emergency water damage mitigation and mold assessment after a plumbing failure or perimeter seepage flooded the finished basement. Moisture migrated across the wall-to-wall carpeting and wicked upward into the perimeter drywall and baseboards, causing visible black mold growth along the bottom of the walls and saturating the fiberglass batt insulation inside the stud cavities.
Solutions provided:
We provided a comprehensive weighted water extraction, controlled flood-cut demolition, and structural drying solution. Our technicians utilized a commercial deep-extraction weighted rover (FlashXtractor) connected to heavy-duty extraction hoses to pull water directly from the carpet pile and padding without full tear-out. We removed contaminated baseboards and executed a precision 2-foot flood-cut along the lower drywall to remove wet gypsum board and saturated fiberglass insulation, exposing the timber studs and electrical wiring for inspection. Technicians treated all exposed framing and carpet margins with an EPA-registered antimicrobial biocide to neutralize fungal spores, followed by deploying commercial air movers and LGR dehumidifiers to dry the wall cavities and subflooring to baseline dry standards.
