Completion date: February 1, 2024
Location: Lumberton, NJ
Why did the customer contact us?
The customer contacted us for emergency water damage mitigation and structural drying after a main drain line clog caused a major wastewater release in their finished basement. The overflow escaped from the basement bathroom, spreading across carpeted living spaces, saturating underlay padding, wicking into base trim, and dampening the lower perimeter drywall and concrete foundation.
Solutions provided:
We executed an immediate water extraction, controlled demolition, and structural drying protocol. Our technicians extracted standing wastewater and removed the non-salvageable, saturated carpet and underlay padding to expose the concrete slab. We removed affected timber base trim and detached tack strips along the wall perimeters to allow wall cavities to breathe. All exposed concrete subfloors, timber wall framing, and affected bathroom fixtures were treated with an EPA-registered antimicrobial biocide to prevent microbial growth. Finally, we deployed commercial centrifugal air movers and high-capacity LGR dehumidifiers across the basement to thoroughly dry structural materials and restore relative humidity to safe standards.
