Why did the customer contact us?
The customer discovered a significant leak in their lower-level bedroom area. The issue was traced to a hole in the main drain line, which resulted in a Category 3 "black water" release. This type of water damage is highly unsanitary and required immediate professional intervention to prevent health hazards and further structural damage to the block walls and bedroom interior.
Solutions provided:
To maintain the safety of the home, our team first established a professional plastic containment barrier to isolate the affected bedroom and prevent cross-contamination to living areas. Because Category 3 water is biohazardous, our technicians operated in full PPE, including Tyvek suits and respiratory protection. We then conducted a thorough inspection of the plumbing infrastructure, successfully identifying the specific failure point in the PVC main drain line that caused the release. Once the source was addressed, our team performed a deep sanitization of the basement floor using industrial-strength antimicrobial spray to eliminate bacteria and pathogens. To manage the environment, we deployed commercial-grade Phoenix dehumidifiers and high-efficiency air scrubbers to extract deep-seated moisture and purify the air of airborne contaminants. Finally, we performed a detailed cleaning using HEPA-filter vacuums on wall cavities and precision tools to ensure all debris from the leak was entirely removed before the drying process was finalized.
