Why did the customer contact us?
The homeowner contacted us after discovering water damage in their bathroom originating from the shower area. Moisture had spread beneath the shower and into the surrounding walls and subfloor, creating a risk of structural damage and potential mold growth if left untreated.
Because the moisture had traveled beyond the visible surfaces, the customer needed a professional evaluation to determine how far the water had spread and to safely dry the affected materials.
Solutions provided:
Our team began by performing a thorough inspection and moisture mapping of the bathroom to identify the extent of the water intrusion. Once we confirmed that moisture had spread behind the shower and into surrounding building materials, we carefully removed the shower assembly to access the affected areas.
To prevent cross-contamination and protect the rest of the home, we installed containment barriers around the work area. This allowed our technicians to safely remove damaged materials and expose the underlying framing and subfloor where moisture had accumulated.
After demolition and cleanup, we installed professional drying equipment, including dehumidifiers and high-velocity air movers, to thoroughly dry the structure. The drying process continued until moisture readings confirmed the framing, subfloor, and surrounding materials had returned to safe levels.
Throughout the process, debris was safely removed from the property and the area was prepared for the next stage of repairs and reconstruction.
